Lake Ashton (Lake Wales) Community Development District (CDD)  was established on August 1st, 2000. A CDD is a Special Purpose District created under Chapter 190 of the Florida Statues. The CDD Board of Supervisors is a five-member board, with four-year terms of office, elected by Lake Ashton CDD registered voters. It determines the yearly assessed maintenance fee required to implement contracts for goods and services to manage the community: management company, security, landscaping, pool services, ponds and wetlands, paths, bridges, restaurant, lawyer, engineer, facility and amenity maintenance and enhancements, etc. It may levy special assessments and enter into agreements, including interlocal agreements.
