Lake Ashton Neighborhood Watch is hosting an important meeting Monday, April 10 at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse Ballroom. At least dozens of Lake Ashton households have been the victims of identity theft. Thieves have created fraudulent credit accounts and stolen money from online bank accounts. In each of these recent cases, residential or household telephone numbers are ported to another carrier. Other current fraudulent activities include stealing tax-related information. Lake Wales and Winter Haven Police Departments will be in attendance to gather information and advise how to handle the situation.
