Amateur Radio Technician License Review

The Lake Ashton Amateur Radio Club and CERT will host an Amateur Radio Technician license review session in the Health and Fitness Center on May 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The review session will use the Gordon West license preparation guide and be taught by two local ham volunteers from the Lake Wales (LWRA) amateur radio club. Immediately after the Sunday session, students may take the Technician license exam free of charge.
Please note that the review session alone will NOT prepare a student for passing the license exam. Self study and on-line practice exams are a necessary and highly recommended prerequisite.
Because of the FCC required paperwork that goes with each testing, all students attending these sessions must pre-register and obtain a FRN (Federal Registration Number) in advance of the class. There is no charge for obtaining the FRN from the FCC. Students should read and follow the instructions at the www.LWRA.us website under the tabs "Becoming a Ham" and "License Exams" on how to obtain their FRN.
