The Lake Ashton Classical Music Program returns for three months of once a week classes starting Monday, September 4 at 2 pm in the Clubhouse Cinema. In this segment we will explore the music of the "Early Romantic" period (1820-1860). Lake Ashton resident Ken Hoffman explains the concepts of 19th century romanticism and covers the great orchestra, chamber, and solo piano music of Franz Schubert, Hector Berlioz, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann, and Felix Mendelssohn. The political, and social-cultural events affecting the arts of the era will be discussed. Newcomers can sign up in class.
