Our next trip is going to be in Winter Haven, through three small lakes and two canals to the Kraft Azalea Gardens.

Meet at the clubhouse parking lot, east side where the golf carts are parked at 8:30 AM, and we will leave as soon as everyone is there.

Trip Info: Launch at Dinky Dock County Park in Winter Park, 410 Ollie Avenue, paddle a short distance along the shore of Lake Virginia into a small canal that leads into Lake Osceola, then through the Venetian Canal, a very picturesque canal leading into Lake Maitland, then along the shore till we reach the take out point at the Kraft Azalea Gardens, where we will get out and take time to smell the roses, ur, azaleas. The total distance is less than a mile and a half, an easy paddle. After exploring the gardens we will paddle back the same way.

Skill Level - Novice to intermediate

Rental Info - Peace of Mind Kayak Rental, 407-733-8338 - Single/$32.10 Tandem/$42.80 Identify yourself as a member of the Lake Ashton club, and tell them we expect to launch about 10:00/10:15 He takes credit cards at the launch site. We should be back at the launch site in about three hours.

Bathrooms - At the county park

Lunch - Take a picnic lunch and we can eat in the park after the paddle, your option, or you can go to downtown Winter Park and have lunch there.
As always, out of town guests are welcome to join us.
