Lido Key - Mangrove Tunnels and maybe Manatees

Skill level - novice

Meet at the HFC at 8:45 AM, and plan on leaving at 9:00 It is about two hours to the launch site.

Lido Key is a small island off the coast of Sarasota, and it has a natural spring in one area where
manatees congregate during cold weather, and there are also a series of mangrove tunnels to explore.
Paddling through the mangroves is a very unique experience.

190 Taft Drive, Sarasota, FL -- Ted Sperling Nature Park. This is also the launch site.
Single Kayak - $35.00 Tandem - $50.00
If you are planning on renting, please make a reservation in advance,
we should arrive there around 11 AM.

Restrooms - There are restrooms near the launch site. We will launch and take out at the same place.
Fees - There is no admission into the park, and there are no launch fees.

Lunch - Plan on having lunch after we finish our paddle and before we start our drive home.
There are picnic tables in the park so we can have a picnic lunch if the weather co-operates, or you can go
into Sarasota to one of ther many fine restaurants in the area.
