Thanksgiving is a time for sharing and caring. This is especially true at Lake Ashton, where for many years about 250 or so LA residents would gather to celebrate with food and fellowship at a Thanksgiving Community Potluck. While many were looking forward to Thanksgiving 2020, it is with regret that the co-facilitators for this event are announcing the Thanksgiving Community Potluck will not take place the same as in years past. However, an alternative to this traditional event where social distancing would have been impossible is being provided. Arrangements have been made with Golden Corral to cater a to-go Thanksgiving plated dinner consisting of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, poultry gravy, mixed vegetables, a yeast roll and cranberry sauce. 250 dinners will be available for Lake Ashton residents only, at a cost of $8 each. Tickets go on sale at the Clubhouse beginning October 1. The drive through event will take place on November 22, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. An article in the November LA Times will announce the exact times to pick up dinners as well as any additional details.

Thank you to Mike, the manager of the Golden Corral, who has worked with the group in the past, for his continued generosity by providing such a great price on the cost of this holiday meal. The co-facilitators also wish to also thank the LA residents who have supported the Community Potluck in years past and hope all understand the decision to change this event due to COVID-19 concerns.
