Saturday, March 13, 2021, 09:30am - 01:00pm

Paddle Trip, Lower Little Manatee River, Saturday, March 13th,

Guided tour of the river and a circle trip around an island in the river.
About a 2 hour, approximately 3 mile paddle trip with a guide from the
Camp Bayou Outdoor Learning Center, an educational camp staffed by volunteers.

Their Mission: To sustain a portion of Florida’s original habitats in the Little Manatee River watershed, and to promote appreciation and better understanding of our natural resources, local history and culture through education.

Address - 4140 24th st, SE, Ruskin FL, slightly less than 1 1/2 hour drive from Lake Ashton.

Bathrooms - none - stop somewhere before we launch

Lunch - On your own

Rentals - all boats are $25.00 per boat, they have five 2 person canoes, one tandem kayak and four single kayaks, all with gear.

If you have your own boat there is a $5 donation requested per boat. (More would be appreciated)

Plan to arrive at 9:30 so that we can launch at 10 AM. Because of Covid precautions, we are restricted to nine people only at the launch site, so we will probably require multiple launches about 10 minutes apart. There will be a guide with each group.

They will need to know no later than FEBRUARY 28TH how many participants we are going to have so that they can have enough volunteers available to accommodate our group. This is a special tour for our community only.

Please let me know if you're going, how many in your group, and if you are taking your own boat or renting. I will be handling the rental boat reservations, so please do not attempt to reserve a boat through the learning center. Rentals are on a first come basis, and I will keep everyone posted as to availability..

As usual, your guests are invited to accompany us.

I NEED THIS INFO PRIOR TO MARCH 1ST.
