Guest author: Robert James Connors
The Book Club invites all residents to this presentation on December 6 at 2:30 pm in the Clubhouse Cinema. Have you ever wondered, how Florida became such a Mecca for development? Join the book club in hearing stories of the last 200 years of development and conflicts. Special guest author, Robert James Connors, will share stories from his book, as well as a story that includes the very land Lake Ashton was developed on. His history is spun through the eyes of one family, with roots to the native Seminoles to development ties of the Keys bridge, railroads, and even Bok Tower.
Mr. Connors, born in Chicago, Illinois, has published more than 1,000 human-interest stories, features and commentaries. He is a former magazine managing editor, journalist, newspaper editorial writer and former Florida County Commissioner. He and his wife Susan reside in Lake Wales.
